01Results
23 of 117 top-cut lists (share 19.66%) and 17.82% of placement points (106 points) in the JSON. It has 0 wins: 4 runner-ups and 6 more top 4s (top 4 = 10), and all 23 lists are top 8, across 14 of 20 events. Because it won nothing, there are no winning events to link. Its best results were runner-up at The Side Deck Remote Duel WCQ Regional, Graz, Bremen and Mönchengladbach. Bremen had 4 Angelechy lists in its top 8, and Mönchengladbach and Seattle had 3 each (list query).
02Identity and win condition
None of the 23 main decks plays an Angelechy monster. The main deck is Spells, Traps and hand traps (the one exception is Witness of the Ancient in 2 lists, 8.7% in the JSON), and every Angelechy monster sits in the Extra Deck. Those monsters either get Summoned or get placed in the Spell & Trap Zone as Continuous Spells. Angelechy Opening to e4 is the starter that works even going second: "If your opponent goes first, you can also activate this card from your hand during the Standby Phase of their first turn." It places a Field Spell, Special Summons a "Level 2 or 7" Angelechy from the Extra Deck, and places a second one as a Continuous Spell. Angelechy Endgame Problem
scales with that count. At 2+ the Angelechy player chooses "the zone(s)" when their opponent "would Special Summon a monster(s)", at 4+ they "can banish that monster(s)", and at 5 they get a free Extra Deck Summon. The deck closes games with Angelechy Verdict
, which counts "Angelechy" Monster Cards "on the field" and at 5+ reads "Banish all cards your opponent controls", and with column banishes from Angelechy Enlisted
, Angelechy Castellan
and Angelechy Bastion
. Assault Blackwing - Kusanagi the Gathering Storm
(100% of lists) "Can attack all your opponent's monsters, once each."
03Core engine and ratios
From the JSON's per_archetype data (inclusion / avg copies):
- Angelechy Problem
100% / 3.0: "discard 1 Spell/Trap; Special Summon 1 Level 2 "Angelechy" monster from your Extra Deck, and if you do, place 1…"
- Angelechy Strategy Score
100% / 3.0: "Add 1 "Angelechy" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand"
- Angelechy Opposition
100% / 3.0: puts one Angelechy "in your opponent's Main Monster Zone" and the other in the Spell & Trap Zone.
- Angelechy Opening to e4
100% / 3.0
- Dominus Impulse
100% / 3.0: "Negate that effect" on Special Summon effects.
- Foolish Burial Goods
100% / 2.78: "Send 1 Spell/Trap from your Deck to the GY", which sets up the GY effects of Strategy Score, Verdict and Angelechy Disturbance
.
- Angelechy Verdict
100% / 1.61; Angelechy Disturbance
100% / 1.04; Angelechy Endgame Problem
100% / 1.0
- Terraforming
95.65% / 1.0 (Limited)
- Dominus Purge
91.3% / 3.0; Dominus Spark
78.26% / 2.67
- Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
91.3% / 3.0; Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit
91.3% / 2.9; Droll & Lock Bird
73.91% / 1.0 (Limited); Mulcharmy Fuwalos
60.87% / 3.0
- Angelechy Brilliant Move
65.22% / 1.0
Impulse and Purge are the deck's interaction: 3 Impulse in every list, 3 Purge in 91.3% (JSON), so 6 copies in 21 of 23 lists. The from-hand locks are not free. A from-hand Impulse locks "LIGHT, EARTH, and WIND" monster effects, which shuts off the pilot's own Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit and Effect Veiler
(LIGHT), Droll & Lock Bird
and Mulcharmy Fuwalos
(WIND), and the LIGHT Synchros (Shatranga, Enlisted, Castellan, Bastion, Destrier). A from-hand Purge locks "DARK, WATER, and FIRE", which shuts off Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
(FIRE) and the DARK Synchros (Seneschal, Kusanagi).
04Flex and tech
- Effect Veiler
43.48%.
- Rainbow Bridge Bifrost
and Pot of Prosperity
(Limited) 30.43% each. Bifrost is a second Field Spell search: "add 1 Field Spell from your Deck to your hand".
- Songs of the Dominators
17.39%.
Two lists cut Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring entirely (list query). Creighton Pree's Fort Worth list plays 0 hand traps, with 3 Dominus Spiral
, 3 Songs and 3 Bifrost. Lovro Smolnikar's Graz runner-up list plays 3 Infinite Impermanence
and 3 Nibiru, the Primal Being
.
Extra Deck: the six Angelechy Synchros and Kusanagi are in every list. The open slots go to Centur-Ion Legatia 82.61%, Chaos Angel
69.57%, Black-Winged Assault Dragon
65.22% ("inflict 700 damage" each time the opponent activates a monster effect), Masterflare Hyperion
56.52% and Maple Maiden
21.74%. Legatia and Hyperion are LIGHT and Chaos Angel and Assault Dragon are DARK, so they fit the "except LIGHT or DARK Synchro Monsters" lock on Strategy Score and Opposition. Maple Maiden is WIND, so it is off-limits on any turn the pilot resolves Strategy Score or activates Opposition.
05Going first / going second
Main-deck hand traps average 10.0 per list, with a range of 0–13 (list query). Opening to e4 and the from-hand Dominus traps give the deck live cards on the opponent's turn 1. None of the 23 main decks plays a JSON-listed board breaker. Going second it relies on Verdict, Dominus Spark ("banish it") and the Synchro banish effects.
06Choke points and what stops it
- Strategy Score search. Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
hits "Add a card from the Deck to the hand". Droll & Lock Bird
works off the add itself: "If a card(s) is added from the Main Deck to your opponent's hand". Neither card stops Angelechy Opening to e4
. It "Place[s]" a Field Spell and Summons from the Extra Deck, and Ash's text only lists "Special Summon from the Deck".
- Face-up Field Spell or placed Continuous Spell activations. This covers Angelechy Problem's effect and the triggers on Angelechy Shatranga
and Angelechy Destrier
when they are placed. Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit
applies "when a Spell/Trap that is already face-up on the field activates its effect". Destrier's search trigger ("add 1 "Angelechy" Spell from your Deck to your hand") is an Ash target.
- Synchro bodies on the field. Effect Veiler
and Infinite Impermanence
stop the column banishes.
Angelechy Bastion in the Spell & Trap Zone makes "other "Angelechy" cards on the field cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects". The protection covers "other" Angelechy cards only, so Bastion itself is still exposed. Typhoon
can target Bastion directly. The cleaner order is to take Bastion off first. Cosmic Cyclone
can do that because it targets "1 Spell/Trap on the field" and banishes it.
07Side deck
List query, % of the 23 lists:
| Card | Lists | Avg copies |
|---|---|---|
| Inspector Boarder |
78% | 3.0 |
| Nibiru, the Primal Being |
52% | 2.25 |
| Typhoon |
43% | 3.0 |
| Mulcharmy Purulia |
43% | 2.5 |
| Extra Angelechy Verdict |
43% | 1.2 |
| Rainbow Bridge Bifrost |
35% | 1.88 |
| Skull Meister |
30% | 2.71 |
| Pot of Sloth |
30% | 2.43 |
| Mulcharmy Fuwalos |
30% | 3.0 |
| The Great Gallant Bandit |
30% | 2.14 |
| Shiina, Twin Tempests of Celestial Thunder |
22% | 2.8 |
Boarder is the key side card. "Neither player can activate monster effects unless the number of monster effects that player has previously activated that turn is less than the number of monster card types currently on the field". Outside its hand traps and the 2 lists on Witness of the Ancient, the Angelechy main deck activates no monster effects from the hand, so the cost of Boarder falls mostly on the opponent. The Synchro banishes on the field are still monster effects. Typhoon is "Target 1 face-up Spell/Trap on the field; destroy it", which answers a placed Continuous Spell or the Field Spell.
08Playing against it
- Hold Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
for Strategy Score, Foolish Burial Goods or Castellan's "send 1 "Angelechy" card from your Deck to the GY".
- Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit
is the cleanest answer to the face-up Field Spell, because it destroys "that card on the field".
- Mulcharmy Fuwalos
requires "If you control no cards". When they activate Opening to e4 in your first Standby Phase, you still control no cards, and e4 Special Summons from their Extra Deck.
- Expect Inspector Boarder
in games 2 and 3 (78% of side decks, list query).
- Angelechy Verdict
counts every "Angelechy" Monster Card "on the field", in both Spell & Trap Zones and both Monster Zones. That includes the one Angelechy Opposition
Summons to your Main Monster Zone. Count all of them before you commit to a play.
- Dominus Impulse
and Dominus Purge
only destroy "if you have a Trap in your GY". With no Trap in their GY yet, a negated card of yours stays on the field.
