TCG Advanced, banlist tcg-2026-10-19, window 2026-10-19..2026-11-07. Five lists is an anecdote, not a trend.
01Results
The win: Lara A., Fort Worth WCQ Regional (2026-10-24, 103 players). Top 4s at Panama City and Cluj-Napoca; top 8s at Mönchengladbach and Richmond.
02Identity and win condition
A Fusion toolbox built on Aleister. Aiwass, Divine Spirit of the Law finds the Aleister ("add 1 "Aleister" monster from your Deck to your hand"), Aleister finds "Invocation", and Magical Meltdown protects the summons: Fusion activations "cannot be negated, also your opponent's cards and effects cannot activate when a monster is Fusion Summoned this way."
The game ends on Hyperinvoked Aeon (2.4 copies, 100%): "banish cards from the field and/or GYs, up to the number of monsters used as material", plus up to 3 from the opponent's Extra Deck off 3+ materials. Invoked Mechaba (100%) is the negate: "negate the activation, and if you do, banish that card."
03Core engine and ratios
Main deck at ≥60% inclusion (per_archetype, inclusion / avg copies):
| Card | Incl. | Avg | What it does (DB) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aleister the Invoker | 100% | 3 | Normal Summon: "add 1 "Invocation" from your Deck" |
| Aleister the Reminiscent | 100% | 3 | "banish 1 "Invoked" monster from your Extra Deck; add 1 "Invocation", or 1 Spell that mentions it" |
| Aiwass, Divine Spirit of the Law | 100% | 3 | searches Aleister; from GY "Special Summon this card, then you can Fusion Summon 1 "Invoked" monster" |
| Sacred Spirit Sword Aiwass | 100% | 3 | "Special Summon 1 "Aiwass, Divine Spirit of the Law" from your Deck or GY" |
| Magical Meltdown | 100% | 3 | adds "Aleister the Invoker"; Fusion activations can't be negated |
| Super Polymerization | 100% | 3 | "Neither player can activate cards or effects in response to this card's activation." |
| Invocation - "Sword" | 100% | 2.4 | Fusion with "monsters you control"; GY: recovers "Aleister" or "Invocation" |
| Invocation | 100% | 2 | Fusion from hand, banishing from "either player's GY" for Invoked |
| Virakam, the Divine Spirit of Artifice | 100% | 1 | Sets an "Invocation" spell; negates a response to "your Fusion Monster's effect activation" |
| Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring / Mulcharmy Fuwalos / Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit / Droll & Lock Bird | 100 / 80 / 80 / 80% | 3 / 3 / 2.25 / 1 | hand traps (Droll Limited) |
| Invocation - "Grail" | 60% | 1.67 | "banishing 1 monster you control and 1 face-up monster your opponent controls as material" |
| Sorcerer of the Swamp | 60% | 2 | banishes a named material from Deck to Special Summon itself |
Aleister access in every list: 6 Aleisters themselves (3 Aleister the Invoker, 3 Aleister the Reminiscent), 3 Aiwass, Divine Spirit of the Law that "add 1 "Aleister" monster from your Deck", and 3 Magical Meltdown that "add 1 "Aleister the Invoker"". Sacred Spirit Sword Aiwass (3) reaches Aiwass, not an Aleister in hand: its Aleister mode only sends to the GY or banishes. Virakam stays at one copy everywhere.
04Flex and tech
Four of five lists ran 12–14 hand traps in the main (counted against staples.hand_traps). Jordan Rosbottom (Richmond top 8) is the outlier: Ash only, plus 3 Radiant Typhoon Vision, 1 Mystical Space Typhoon, 2 Forbidden Crown, 2 Forbidden Droplet and 2 Triple Tactics Thrust. Smaller splits: Crowley, the Gifted Magistus (Lara A., Müller), Terraforming and Gamma Summon (Baloyes, Rosbottom), Mulcharmy Purulia main (Baloyes, Müller), Infinite Impermanence ×3 (Bosilca, Lara A.).
Extra Deck: Aeon, Mechaba, Aleister the Invoker of Madness, S:P Little Knight, Invoked Sorath, Invoked Baybarron, Invoked Oceanus and Invoked Raidjin are in 100% of lists. Flex slots: Invoked De Anima (80%), then Invoked Caliga, Invoked Augoeides, Invoked Elysium and Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden (60% each). De Anima answers GY plays: "When your opponent activates a card effect in the GY (Quick Effect): You can banish this card you control; Special Summon 1 "Aleister" monster from your Deck, and if you do, negate that activated effect." Caliga is the floodgate: "If a player's monster effect attempts to activate, none of that player's monsters can activate their effects for the rest of this turn".
05Going first / going second
Main-deck board breakers (staples.board_breakers) are 0 in four lists and 4 in Rosbottom's. Breakers are sided: Triple Tactics Thrust ×2 plus Evenly Matched ×2 (Baloyes), Evenly Matched ×3 (Bosilca), Harpie's Feather Duster ×1 (Rosbottom; Limited). Lara A. and Müller side no card from staples.board_breakers.
06Choke points and what stops it
- Searches. Both Aleisters, Aiwass and Meltdown's activation all add from Deck: Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring ("Add a card from the Deck to the hand"); Droll & Lock Bird ("cards cannot be added from either player's Main Deck to the hand") after the first resolves.
- On-field Aleister effects. Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit ("When a monster on the field activates its effect"), Infinite Impermanence ("Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; negate its effects"), Effect Veiler (only "During your opponent's Main Phase").
- Deck summon. Sacred Spirit Sword Aiwass's Deck mode: Ash ("Special Summon from the Deck").
- GY loops. Aiwass's GY revive and Invocation - "Sword"'s GY recovery fit Skull Meister ("When a card effect is activated in your opponent's GY"). Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion covers "Special Summon a Monster Card(s) from the GY" and "Add a card(s) from the GY to the hand, Deck, and/or Extra Deck". Does Invocation - "Sword"'s "shuffle this card into the Deck, and if you do, add that target to your hand" count as an add from the GY?
- What not to fire into. Super Polymerization allows no responses ("Neither player can activate cards or effects in response to this card's activation"). Magical Meltdown is narrower: Fusion activations "cannot be negated", and the opponent "cannot activate when a monster is Fusion Summoned this way". You can still chain to a Meltdown Fusion; you just can't negate it. Virakam punishes responses to Fusion Monster effects.
- Mulcharmy Fuwalos draws "Each time your opponent Special Summons a monster(s) from the Deck and/or Extra Deck"; every Invoked Fusion qualifies.
07Side deck
From the 5 stored side decks (my decklists query): Hey, Space Trunade! 80%; Pot of Sloth, Solemn Accusation, Solemn Judgment, Mulcharmy Purulia and Nibiru 60% each; Evenly Matched, Skull Meister and Gamma Summon 40%. Solemn Accusation ("When a Spell/Trap Card is activated") and Solemn Judgment hit spell-driven combos; Trunade, Evenly Matched and Pot of Sloth ("Draw cards equal to the number of cards your opponent controls") are going-second cards.
08Playing against it
Hold Ash for the first search: Aiwass from hand, or Aleister the Invoker's trigger. Droll & Lock Bird (Limited) can only fire after a card "is added from the Main Deck", so it lets the first search through and blocks the rest. Meltdown only protects Fusion effects, not these searches. Mulcharmy Fuwalos (82.91% main across the field, staples) goes down before the first Fusion. Meltdown says opponent's effects "cannot activate when a monster is Fusion Summoned this way", so the summon itself is no window. Fuwalos also needs "you control no cards". Skull Meister and Ghost Belle are the side-in answers to the Aiwass and "Sword" GY loops. Post-side, expect Solemn Accusation/Solemn Judgment (Limited) (3 of 5 sides each).
